Ruaha National Park

Tanzania's largest and wildest national park — remote, rugged, and rewarding with massive elephant herds, wild dogs, lions, and the dramatic Great Ruaha River.

About Ruaha National Park

Ruaha National Park covers 20,226 km² of dramatic wilderness in south-central Tanzania — the country's largest national park and one of the wildest places in Africa. The park is remote and receives far fewer visitors than the Northern Circuit, delivering an exclusive safari experience. Ruaha is home to one of the world's largest elephant populations, the highest lion density in East Africa, and is one of the best places to see the endangered African wild dog. The Great Ruaha River provides a dramatic setting for game viewing, particularly during the dry season.
